To those gathered to the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ elsewhere:

Recently in our assembly readings we have been taking up the gospel of John. In John 7:53 it says “And every one went to his home” but then goes on to say in the next verse “But Jesus went to the mount of Olives. And early in the morning He came again into the temple, and all the people came to Him; and He sat down and taught them.” While the people went to their homes, our blessed Lord Jesus spent the night in the peace and comfort of His Father’s presence. Naturally it is easy to stay in the comfort of our own homes, but Jesus, as our perfect example, knew that time apart in communion with His Father was necessary. Those who left their homes and returned to the temple the following day were blessed by being taught of Him. Let our desire to be in His presence also and to be willing to step out of our comfort zones. There will be blessing for it!

We acknowledge the discouragements of the day, but we feel even more strongly the necessity of being gathered in His presence and to be taught of Him. We also recognize the tremendous value of fellowship with the Lord’s people. As such, we would like to invite you again to join us for special meetings at Camp Muskingum in Carrollton, Ohio. The conference meetings will begin, Lord willing, with prayer on Friday, July 3 at 3:00pm and will continue through Lord’s Day afternoon, July 5. We also would like to invite the young people for two days of activities and meetings, beginning July 1 just prior to the conference and concluding at lunch on July 3. (See attached letter) This year we also want you to know that anyone attending for the conference portion is more than welcome to arrive on Thursday evening if they would like to enjoy extra time of fellowship, ministry, and time on the lake. We would appreciate prayer that the Lord would use this time for the tremendous encouragement of the Lord’s people.
